What We Do |
|
DECA develops healthcare products by identifying, enhancing and creating development schemes around products either not of interest to large companies or not generally accessible to smaller ones.
There is no shortage of good marketable pharmaceutical ideas and projects. There are, however, a limited number of organizations with management teams who can capably create the infrastructure and strategy around a project so as to make it viable in the market place. Large pharmaceutical companies tend to focus their development efforts around the pursuit of blockbuster drugs in well defined therapeutic categories; diabetics, pain management, psychiatric, respiratory care to name a few. It is often difficult for them to integrate "innovative" opportunities within their complex infrastructures. Smaller or less developed markets tend to receive little attention. Many of these "smaller" ideas and projects could become more attractive by creating additional indications, reformulation or changes in routes of delivery, or other changes which serve to enhance the benefits to patients and result in broader marketability. However, small or medium sized pharmaceutical companies occasionally lack the resources and/or the expertise to develop these products.
